Working prints from a film by Peter Liechti will be shown together with black-and-white Photographs by Hands Otte at Kunsthalle. Liechti accompanied the Appenzell artist Roman Signer durch his performances, resulting in the documentary film Signers Koffer (engl. Signer's suitcase). For many of Hanns Otte's photographs the point of departure is public space, not necessary but possible communal outdoor space. These public spaces obey a higher order, they are commune – emphasis on the second syllable. In contrast to this stands the open space that the photographs discover in all kinds of cities and countries, away from the urban planning prescribed lines of guidance.

Peter Liechti (1951, St.Gallen/CH - 2014, Zurich/CH) was a Swiss film director.

Hanns Otte (*1955, Salzburg/AT) lives and works in Salzburg.
